A Trump Justice Department may be considering a court-ordered ban on the superhero team that played a pivotal role in the formation of the Justice Department.
A Trump attorney in the office of the chief justice told CNN on Monday that a DOJ memo is being reviewed.
“A memo was released last night that’s not final, but I think it’s possible the department is considering a similar ban on superheroes,” said Matthew Miller.
Justice Department officials have previously denied any such review.
“Justice Department officials will not comment on ongoing litigation or other ongoing matters,” Miller said in a statement to Business Insider.
Justice officials are also trying to decide what role they can play in the case, which centers on the Trump administration’s efforts to defund Planned Parenthood and limit the ability of states to block the organization from receiving federal funds.
“We are reviewing that,” Miller added.
“I have no further comment.”
The Justice Department’s Office of Legal Counsel is reviewing a Trump Justice memo that was released on Monday in which the Trump Justice team suggests a ban on superhero teams.
According to the memo, Justice Department lawyers are reviewing the Justice League’s role in creating the Office of Special Counsel (OSC), a group that “examines, monitors, and responds to claims of improper bias by the OSC.”
The memo also noted that the Justice Division “continues to investigate” allegations of bias against the Justice Association, which represents superheroes.
The Justice Association is suing the Trump Department over its actions, including the Justice Departments decision to ban the Justice league.
“The Justice League has been a critical force in protecting our democracy and protecting our families and communities,” Justice League Executive Director Ben Affleck said in the statement to CNN.
We stand ready to defend all of our heroes and protect all of their rights.””
As the president has stated, we will never accept a criminal prosecution of a superhero who is not a criminal.
We stand ready to defend all of our heroes and protect all of their rights.”
