How to read the headline for a judge’s ruling in a nursing home

A nursing home judge has ruled that a nursing mother who was accused of sexually abusing her own daughter is not entitled to legal aid.

The ruling by a Montgomery County, Md., judge, who previously dismissed charges against a nursing facility employee, was released Friday.

The judge had dismissed the case in April after a nursing homes inspector determined that a woman in the facility had been abusing her daughter for years.

The judge ordered the nursing home to pay the woman’s legal costs.

The facility has been ordered to provide more than $20,000 to the mother.
